I got this email recently about a pup named Thor in CT that needs help --

-- no, this is not my Thor, but he needs help --

-- please note, too, that most of the maladies mentioned here are typical dog behavior and can be remedied or controlled through basic obedience!

She writes:

"Thor is a two year old pitbull who was born on October 2nd 2003. He is brown and white and weighs about 55 pounds. He gets into garbages, he's not very good in the car.

Great with kids and other dogs, NOT cats. He is very loving and caring, so much that i took him as a favor to my friend when deep down i knew i wouldn't be able to keep him. "

And --

"I found out that our homeowners insurance does not include coverage on American Staff Pitts. Therefore, this is why I'm contacting you.

It's very essential that you guys can take Thor and place him in a good home, or my father will put him on the streets or call animal control. "

Finally --

"I beg of you that you make room for him!!!
