Little Bert needs your help -- his foster momma writes:

"This is his story. Bert lives in Philadelphia, where his original owner raised him from a puppy. He was loved and taken care of.

Unfortunately his owner got into some serious trouble and his parents will not allow him to keep the dog. I tried to take the dog to my house, but my one year old Chihuahua (Carlos) who is very protective and extremely jealous of me will not accept any pets in my house or even near me."

and --

"One day, they got into a fight over a bone and even though Bert is very friendly, his natural instinct kicked in and he attacked Carlos, after he bit his nose.

I am afraid that one day I will come home and find Carlos dead. I am not saying that it’s Bert’s fault. I think that he would be great, even with other animals, but they need to be friendly. Carlos is not and that’s why I had to give Bert back to his original owner. "

further --

"His parents want to give Bert to SPCA. And we all know what is going to happen. He will be put to sleep, just because he is a pit bull….it makes me so mad....

and --

"He is a wonderful and very well trained dog. As soon as I brought him home and showed him back yard, he knew that this is the door to go outside. He will sit next to the door every time he wanted to go out. He listens to all commands. He is not aggressive in any shape or form. He will walk right next to your leg, doesn’t have to be on the leash and he loves car rides."

Finally --

"He is not a high maintenance dog at all. He does not run around the house without any reasons like some dogs do. He even tried to play with Carlos and my cat Chester, but unfortunately his size scared them away.

He is 3 years old, very calm and not aggressive at all. He would be great with kids and possibly other animals, but again they have to be friendly and willing to accept new buddy at home.

Birt is like a big teddy bear, wants to be hugged all the time. Please help US…"
