Well, here's the story of sweet BonJovi, a 24-week old pit-mix -- his foster momma writes --

"This is a puppy that was at a high kill shelter. The shelter staff noticed that he had a very runny bloody stool and were sure he had parvo. He just laid on the shelter floor and they decided he was a candidate for euthanasia."

"The next day, they came in, Bon Jovi lifted his head and begged for a chance to fight the virus on his own.

By the next day he was standing and starting doing better. This little guy is only 5 1/2 months old, Eric. He is so docile, laid back and exceptionally sweet.

Plays well with other dogs and has no interest in cats.

Loves kids. "

"I normally do not take puppies from this particular shelter due to so much parvo. As a matter of fact, we took a beautiful six month old yellow lab puppy from the shelter, she was kenneled with Bon Jovi.

We got her to the vet, they had been treating her for five days, and I just got a phone call this morning, that she didn't make it."
