Little Emily is a little beauty -- and she needs a home -- !! Her foster momma writes --
"I am writing you because I have a dog that I would like to find a home for.
I have been watching her for a friend, who has decided that she does not
want the dog and does not plan on coming back to get it. I would love to
keep her but I already have a dog and can't afford two. She a house trained,
up to date on shots, good with other dogs and cats, walks well on a leash
and knows a handful of commands."
|
"I don't think I would have it in me to
bring her to the humane society - as she is a pit bull mix and I am afraid
that she wont get the life she deserves. She is an exceptional dog.
I am willing to transport her, within reason. She is crate trained, and almost 100% house trained. When I leave the house I like to keep her in her crate or in my bedroom just incase so we don't have any accidents. She is two years old, she is not fixed and it looks as though she has had puppies at some point in the past."

"She is good with other dogs, but loves to play so I prefer to supervise her and my JRT mix (Duncan) just incase, because she is very strong. She is approx. 53 pounds with lots of puppy left in her personality.
She LOVES to go on walks and she is even good when I take her on mile runs. She walks well on her leash, knows sit and paw and we have been working on leave it and stay. She is okay to play in the backyard by herself, I have a 6 foot stockade fence and I have never had a problem, no digging."
|
"Her only aggression comes when other animals (including cats) go near her food. She does not have food aggression when I take her food away when she is eating - so I feed her separately from my other dog. She is a great cuddler and loves to sleep with me and Duncan on my bed.
She loves to play catch and play with her kong. She does have a lot of energy so it is important to keep her exercised, because sometimes she can get a little wild all cooped up inside."

Okay, so little Emily will be spayed before she's placed, and she has some normal issues like resource-guarding with her food -- THAT can be worked on with a trainer and diligence.
The hand-me-down dogs always get me down -- Emily doesn't deserve this treatment -- all she wants to be is a loving part of a committed family --
-- could it be you? Can you promise her commitment and love? In return, she'll give you exercise plus plenty of licks and wags -- !!
