Here's Francine -- who is quite the looker, and who is in need of help. Her story reads --

"This is Francine. She is 4 years old and rescued from North Shore Animal in New York.  She has since lived in a garden nursery all her life. Tied out all day outside and tied up inside the green house all night.  The man who leases his business at the nursery said the landlord will no longer allow her to stay. She has weeks before she will go to the local shelter where they are killing the pits EVERY DAY!!!!! 

My mother and I are desperate. My mother has 16 cats and 8 dogs and lives in a pretty small house and my husband, my 2 year old daughter and I have 4 dogs and 25 cats and live an apartment.  We both have pits and adore them. "

"Francine has had 2 litters before we knew her and has since been fixed and had all her shots.  Francine seems to be good with children (she was very sweet with my daughter) but DOES not seem to like any other dogs. She really wants to be the only pet. We are not quite sure if she is good with the cats. She seems to be interested.

We are desperate.  We have contacted all local animal shelters and rescue groups.  Which were either full or wouldn't help.  We have paid all her medical bills and have put $500+ worth of ads in the papers.  Very long and well thought up ads but only got 3 phone calls.  All of which we wouldn't give a spider to! "

"Francine is a very special girl. She really just wants to please and love someone forever. She is really beautiful. She probably weighs about 40 lbs. and only goes to the bathroom outside.  She frequently squats with her tail between her legs because she is so happy to see us when we visit her which is at least 2 times a week.  It truly breaks our hearts. 

Is there any animal or rescue person you know of that could help?  We would be willing to take her anywhere to help as long as we know she will have a happy life and be safe. "

"Please know we are doing all we can.  We would both take her but the fact she doesn't get a long with other dogs and we are not sure how she is with cats. We just can't do it. All of our animals are rescue and strays and ferals.  We have always helped any dog, cat, pigeon, etc.  that we have come in contact with that needs our help, but whatever we are doing to help Francine is not working.

This is quite the sad story, BUT this sadness can be un-done by a caring, loving, responsible home -- !!
