Well, here's the story of little Ivy, previously Dee, featured here.

I changed her name to Ivy in respect to a woman of the same name in Mississippi trying her hardest to save pit bulls in a very difficult situation. Their story is here.

Little Ivy was picked up by a rescuer in New Haven, CT, where her momma, then 10 years old, had been bred every heat of her life.

Ivy is deaf -- a very common trait of all-white bully breeds

First, her journey.

Glenn and Christie were kind enough to transport this baby to me, dedicating their Saturday night to helping this girl.

Glenn is the proud father of Guido, a pup he adopted from SPBR in fall, 2004 --

-- Guido is below, just as a baby --

Here is little Ivy with me --

-- just look at her, sorta with a smug look on her face --

-- YOU DESERVE IT, BABY!

Upon our return home, she meets her temperament tester, my Elvis --

-- his test is done solely through play --

-- and now it's time for a hoe-down -- !!

Little Ivy says, "Ohhhh, I like it here very much -- !!"

Next, Elvis and she coordinate their play -- a delicate operation -- !!

-- and finally she gives him the snout-smack -- !!

Here she is, showing even little ladies can bare strong teeth -- !!

--- TIMBEEEERRRR -- !!

With that, Elvis deems her worthy, and declares her his responsibility for the next two weeks!

Ivy is only six weeks old, and puppies SHOULD be with their litter till 8 weeks, to learn the ins- and outs- of proper socialization --

-- since Ivy's sitation in New Haven was detriorating so quickly, Elvis will fill those shoes -- !!

So, this little girl will be adoptable as of August 29th --

-- she will need a parent dedicated to her 110% -- taking her to obedience for deaf dogs, and letting her be a big part of their every day life --

-- also, they will have to be ready for all the "oohhs" and "aahhhs" they'll get when walking her -- she is a real beauty!

If interested, fill out an adoption app above!

Ivy's update!

August 25th

Well, Ivy is preparing to fly to fly the coop -- !! She is getting spayed today, and has an upcoming home-visit with a great family that has deaf-dog experience --

-- keep your fingers (or paws ) crossed and prayers said for this little girl as she goes through these transitions -- she's on her way to being a loved and loving little lady -- !!
