Martin's time seems to have run out -- can you give him some more??

I received the following email --

"I have an american staffordshire terrier that I am no longer able to keep because I'm moving.  Someone recommended that I email you and see what you would be able to do to place him.

He is a sweet and cuddly dog, about 6 years old named Martin.  He isn't neutered and has not seen a vet in a little while.  Please write back and let me know if you can help.  Thank you."

And another --

"This is Martin aka. Bitey.  He responds to either name.   He was rescued from a group of children who were abusing him.  He has always been around people and is a very social, outgoing dog.

He seems to have a never ending  supply of energy...he loves to play fetch with his ball.  It can get annoying at times, but I think if someone spent more time with him, he would be less excitable.  He is not good around cats or other dogs, we have tried placing him with families with pets, but he did not get along with them.  He is very cuddly when he gets to know you, very loyal, loves to bury his face into you.

He likes nibbling fabric, and if not watched will shred fabric and try to eat it.  He has never had an accident in the house."

"We can supply and wicker bed with towels and blankets. If you want to know anything else please let me know.  Thank you."

What a sad story for little Martin -- and he isn't the only one humming "I just wasn't made for these times" off of Pet Sounds here -- I find these surrenders the hardest --

-- here's a boy who has proven himself loyal, fun, energetic and a companion -- and now, for circumstances beyond his control, he must go.

What breed of dog is he? Joyce said it best with --

"Corgi or Basset with Pit"

So, little Martin, aka Bitey, for his penchant at nibbling the sheets, needs to find a permanent home --

-- he doesn't need a part-time home, where excuses are going to be found not to keep him --

-- he instead needs a home where he'll be loved and embraced.

We'll take care of the vetting and neutering, that's for sure --

-- can you take care of the rest?

If so, fill out an adoption application above!
