These are unfortunate newbies to the "I need a home" plight --

-- can you help??

Loka

Her foster momma writes --

"Loka needs to go home! She has been with us too long and is very sad. Loka needs someone to love her and show her affection. Please come see us!

Loka is a lovely young pittie girl who has suffered tragedy..her female owner passed away (Loka may have witnessed the event) and she came to stay with us and is quite depressed about that."

"Loka is really very sweet and affectionate and definitely prefers women but with any owner will require an experienced hand (men will need to go slow and easy with her--she may have had some bad dealings with a man in her recent past--perhaps she witnessed some abuse on her prior owner.)

Loka will need to go to a home without children; she has no experience with children and would not understand their behavior. She would do best in a one or two adult only home with people who will allow her time to adjust and provide her the training and security she needs to bond with them."

"Loka is small and well behaved.  If you can offer little Loka a place in your home and heart, please come talk with us today!"

Charlotte

Her momma writes --

"My dog Charlotte is a 9 year old female (spayed). She is probably part Am Staff and part something else. Over the years, many vets have shared their many different opinions of her breed with me! Someone left her on the doorstep of my friend's coffee shop when she was probably only about a month old. So we don't know where she came from."

"I don't know if you only place dogs from shelters, but I need to find a new home for Charlotte . I've had her since she was almost a year old, and this is going to kill me. But I just can't give her what she needs anymore. She has serious separation anxiety and fear of loud things like thunder and fireworks. When I say fear, I mean she shakes inconsolably and occasionally ends up vomiting because she is so upset.

She takes Clomicalm for her separation anxiety, and she also has valium for thunder and sometimes on just really bad days. (It totals only about $20/month) I work during the day and I'm at meetings and school in the evenings 1 to 3 nights per week. Charlotte & I live in the city, so she has never really had a yard. She needs one badly. I can't afford to move somewhere where she would have the space she needs. I take her to the dog park as much as possible. She really loves that! She also loves to swim.

She doesn't like cats. Well, she chases them, and then doesn't really know what she's supposed to do next. She gets along with other dogs well.  She loves to play and chase and wrestle around, except that she is food aggressive.

Brady

His dad writes -

" I am writing to see if you are willingand able to save my 3 year old pitbull, Brady.

He's a great dog.  Very smart and loving.  He can be very skiddish though and when he feels threatened he can snap.  I think kids just add even more uncertainty for him."

"We love him so much and it breaks our hearts to be getting rid of him.  If we can find him a good home though we will feel much better about it.

Can you help?  Or do you know of some one who can?"

Brady's problem is that there are new 2-legged family members, and he is having a hard time adapting --

-- thus, he will only place in a home with no children under 12 --

Kamoni

Her foster mom writes --

" Kamoni goes to the vet on Fri to be HW tested and UTD on shots. Then when Ruth gets back from vacation we'll arrange to get Kamoni to her. Kamoni will stay with a local trainer until transport can be arranged. He'll eval her during this time."

"I have had no problems with her but she will be scared and confused. She is protective but only barks a bit then lets you pet her.

If you end up with her - bless you - this girl has been thru the wringer. 2 litters of pups, starved, shot with an arrow, cut on garage windows numerous times trying to get back into the house......it goes on and on.....I'm there once a week to settle neighbor disputes and intervene so no more tickets are issued. Keep up all you do!!

This breed needs people to stand up for them."

WANT TO HELP? Can you say the word "commitment" and "forever" in the same sentence?

If so, let us know by filling out an adoption application, and we'll go from there!
