Here's little Rascal, just a wee gal at 8 months --
-- she has one blue eye and one brown eye, is all white and is deaf.
Deafness is a very common trait in white bull breeds -- more on that can be found here.
Her dad writes --
"Hi Eric, let me introduce you to Rascal, our playful and adorable white pit bull.
Our best estimate puts her age at around 8 months, she is currently 44 pounds, she's almost completely white (a few brown spots on her ears) has one brown eye and one blue eye, and yes, she is deaf."
|
"Rascal was found by a co-worker's daughter and we were talked into taking her in "for a few days", well that was six months ago. During that time, our family has come to love her and her quirky ways.
Rascal has been to the vet several times, she has had all shots (including Rabies and Kennel Cough), but has not yet been spayed (she is currently in heat). We did have her micro chipped since a deaf dog presents special problems if they are to get loose. We have managed to teach her to sit, and to lay as well as to come, all through signs."
|
"Rascal is also completely house broken and crate trained. She loves to cuddle with her people, her favorite chew toys are plastic milk jugs and she loves her Kong with a treat inside. We are well aware that Rascal is a smart dog and that with proper training can be a great pet, she just can't be our pet.
Rascal's one flaw seems to be dog aggression, and we have a great six year old white German Shepard (weighing in at around 110 pounds)."

|
"Rascal is jealous of Polar and becomes aggressive when anyone tries to give Polar attention. In general, Polar is tolerant, but when she's not things get a little bit ugly (each dog has drawn blood from the other).
We are aware that dog aggression is a personality trait of pit bulls, but we were hoping that since Polar is a much larger dog, that Rascal wouldn't attempt to fight with her, but we were wrong."

|
"We love her, but we can't put either of the dog's lives in danger and allow them to continue their fights. We hope that since she's still young, but already house broken, there might be hope that someone can take her in and give her the love and training she needs and deserves."
Well, little Rascal will be spayed before her placement, and she needs to go to a home that recognizes and acknowledges her deafness and also her innate pit bull trait of dog aggression --
-- thus, I would place her as an only dog, to an adopter who shows she will go to deaf-dog obedience --
-- and, more importantly, someone who can show her 15 years of love and commitment.
