I received the following message today:

"The pup you were getting from the shelter died last night....not sure why but one of the kennel workers took her home because she wasn't eating."

This little girl dying bothers me quite a bit -- probably because it looks like she never had a chance. I know this is the reality for many dogs every day, but that still doesn't make it right for Trudy.

Her mange was likely accompanied by other maladies that eventually caught up with her.

Rest well, dear girl, and I am sorry we weren't able to help you sooner.

Well, little Trudy is having troubles with her skin -- and she's only 16 weeks old -- !!

She is a pit bull puppy in Ohio, and likely has the demodex mange, which is non-transmissible and that will usually clear-up with proper diet, a topical ointment and some medicated baths --

She is definitely gonna have a wonderful "before" and "after" story --
