You'd never know this girl's past, meeting her... |

Here's Willow, a girl that was called in to the local AC because she was wandering the parks on a cold January morning.
When AC came, they found her circling a large area, and thought she must have had puppies there, too.
To their dismay, it was just Willow, but she showed signs of being a recent momma.
So, this girl was dumped in the park, thinking her puppies were with her, but it was just her instead -- :(

Here's a body-shot of our girl -- nothing short of a beauty --
-- a little bit on the brick-house side, but that never hurt -- !!
Also, she is quite the tail-wagger, as you can see, and when she's unsure of a new situation, that tail goes right between her legs.
Now here's the reason this girl is alive today -- the local animal control.
Sound surprising? To me, it was, but it was also relieving --
-- to see two committed officers to this girl is really a breath of fresh air, and is welcomed!!

Here are the officers, Penny and Dave, who have worked on obedience with ms. willow over the past month, and who have also done a great job FATTENING her UP -- !! |
Here's Dave, a fellow pit bull owner, who he rescued as an officer... |
... and Penny, getting a kiss, who is a big fan of little Willow. |
And next, Dozer, the second from the left here, who is Dave's boy --
-- Dozer was rescued by Dave while he was on duty, and Dozer's days have been wonderful since -- !!
... and a little more -- !!
You can tell, there's no shortage of love for this boy -- :D
So, back to our girl at hand --
-- Willow needs to have an understanding, breed savvy home.
We don't know her past too well, but she's initially timid of people.
That said, she warms up quickly, and almost hangs on you from there on in -- !!
She should also be an only-dog, I think --
-- I didn't see too much interaction with her and other dogs, but she is a big girl, with no signs of being fought, and I think she would be better in an only-dog home.
She showed no food aggression or bone aggression to me with this rawhide --
-- thankfully --
-- and just LOOK how PROUD she is of it -- !!
I said to the officers, after getting to know her, HOW could someone dump her in the cold of January, knowing what a wonderful girl she is?
Again, questions without answers -- :(
Here's our miss wiggles, showing off her red-brindle coat -- :D |
And the ear-shot -- :D
In the SPBR adoption agreement, we require that you don't dock ears for reasons other than medical / veterinary suggestions.
I have had dogs ears docked in the past, but that was due to a vet's suggestion only. Otherwise, the anesthesia is unnecessary, and the floppy look is much more quaint looking to this maligned breed -- :D
You know you have a dog when they'll sit on your lap -- !!
Here's ms. willow and me, happy as two peas in a pod -- :D
And she is a licker, so be ware of that -- !! |

If you're interested in being a critcial part of this girl's success story, please fill out an application above.
She will be spayed before her placement, and, as mentioned, she will need a breed-savvy adopter who wants her as an only dog.
THANK YOU to everyone for this girl's success thusfar, and we look forward to the follow-up -- !!
