Well, Brooklyn better start goin' to church -- because she's BLESSED!

Click here for her one year update!

Click here for her 3 month update!

Here's dear Brooklyn, an owner surrender who was found as a puppy in a high kill shelter in New York City.

Her prior owner pulled her from the shelter and tended to her front right leg, which needed amputation, from abuse or birth defect, we're not sure.

Brooklyn was surrendered because her prior owner's living situation changed.

Enter the home visit...

... and something tells us we're feeling lucky today -- !!

First, she meets Argus, a shelter pup himself. He is now three, and with an exceptional temperament --

-- the GOLDEN RETRIEVER next door tries to fence-fight with Argus, and all he does is wag and play on the other side of the fence -- !!

Well, you can see here that these two took no time to get to playin' --

Their eyes finally meet...

... and they're little love-birds --

Brookie meets and greets the neighbor --

She's a big success, spreading the good word about how great pit bulls can be --

Inside, the parents and kids relax on the sofa -- Kellie's and Keith's lives will never be the same -- !!

-- actually, these are 1-in-a-million adopters. Their prior love was a pit bull, also with three legs -- she recently passed, and Kellie saw Brookie on Petfinder and fell in love...

Brookie and Argie show their pristine obedience -- !!

... and this girl's look says it all -- she's happy as a clam here -- !!

Now, time for more wras-lin' --

... and a community water break...

Argus gets a time out, and Brookie gets to be the queen...

... she meets Fester, the cat, and does great -- maybe not the right way to meet a cat, but she doesn't mind -- !!

She gets some lovin' from her dad...

... and smiles back in return...

So that's it -- THANK YOU to Kellie and Keith for making this love your own --

-- thank you for looking beyond her physical challenge and actually prefering it to a 4-legged dog --

-- and thank you for being ideal owners of two pit bulls -- !!

Brooklyn thanks you with her life, and she will remind you of that love every day forward -- promise!!

Brookie's 3 month update!!

Well, it's three months along, and Keith just updated me on little Brookie's status --

-- as you can see, she's become queen of the house -- !!

Keith writes:

"I just wanted to send you a quick note to tell you Brooklyn is doing amazing.  She and Argus are the best of friends, and are always right with each other.

I am in the process of trying to teach her some tricks, but she's been a bit stubborn, but it's okay because I am more so.  She's starting to get the hang of beg though.  She's also very friendly with the cats.  She nuzzles them and they often rub against her as they walk past.  It's so cute, but they never stay close long enough for us to get it on film. "

" Also, I ran into Barbie and her foster mom.  She is such a sweetie, I can't believe that some one hasn't scooped her up yet.  She is soooo friendly.  I wish I had Argus or Brooke when I ran into them so they could play together.  He foster mom seemed to take great care of her, she's a good choice for SPBR.

I hope all is well, and keep up the good work.
"

Well now, if THIS wasn't the feel good story I needed this morning - !!

Thank you so much, Keith, Kellie and Argus for letting this little lady in your home, and for helping her thrive --

-- she looks perfectly content, and it's all because of you --

-- THANK YOU!!

Brookie's 2006 one year update!

I received this happy email from Keith --

"Eric, It's almost a year now, and we're so happy we got Brooklyn. Thank you so much for making this all possible. Here's a photo I shot awhile back of her with Fester. I think you'll agree that this shows a more accurate view of the Pit Bull's temperment. I took it with my cell phone, so the quality isn't the best... - Keith"

GREAT WORK, Keith, Kellie, Fester, Argus and BROOKIE!
