Wednesday won in the game of life -- and for that we're thankful!! |
Click here for month one or for month six -- !!
Well, here's the story of Wednesday, the little girl at the right here.
She was one of four babies I rescued from Central CT in the winter of 2005. More on their story can be found here.
Here is Princess, Wednesday's momma -- a very sweet girl herself --
-- when I arrived at this home, these babies were in terrible shape -- the ceiling of the condo was collapsing (??) and they were eating adult dog food -- as 6 week old puppies --
Well, that changed quickly! They came back home and mixed in like peas in a pod with China's babies, and started their diets of kelp and ground lamb and beef -- YUM! |
And then the puppy parade came, and Wednesday found her girl -- !! |
... the important test -- momma approves -- !! |
Here's the whole family, who came down from Massachusetts to see their girl --
-- always a GOOD sign!!
The puppies still had two weeks to grow and socialize, so off to the tub they went -- !! |
You can see little Weds here, second from the left -- always a lady --
-- especially compared to the others -- !!
Next, they turn 8 weeks, and spays and neuters are performed... |
... and then we're off to home visits -- !! |
... and Wednesday meets her new siblings... happily!! |
And here, her new sister whispers,
"We're gonna have soooo much fun - !!!"
I love this picture --
-- look at her shirt --
"Anything boys can do
Anything boys can do
Anything boys can do
Anything boys can do
Anything boys can do
I can do BETTER!"
The baby's crib... um, I mean "crate" -- !! |
And grandma comes back for hugs and puppy breath...!! |
Momma meets her little lady again... |
... and I inspect the toy-basket --
"PASS" -- !!
So, there we are -- this little girl has spread her wings, and has come miles, from a dreary start to an idyllic setting --
THANK YOU, Tracy and family, for making her complete -- !!
One month later...
After a month, Tracy sends these pictures and this note --
"I want to thank you for Wednesday. We absolutely love her. We renamed
her to Sandy because of the obvious, her coloring. "
"She went to the vet
on the 7th. She weighs almost 13lbs. She is doing well with her
training, except for at night she sleeps with us." |
"She is doing great. She is getting so big so quick. We adore her. She is absolutely part of our family.
Thank you. She make me so happy.
Take care. Tracy "
Well, now kinder words are rarely spoken, and it makes me so happy to see this girl coming along so well with everyone --
-- look at her here, giving momma the "hug" -- !!
As you can see, the girls are still close -- !! |
Six months later...
And here she is, at six month --
-- my, girl, how you have GROWN -- !!
Tracy writes --
"She brings so much joy to our lives. We
absolutely love her. She is so good with the kids as you can see.
She
is also good with other dogs, so far all she wants to do is play."
"My
daughter likes to dress her up and she just lets her. She can not get
enough of people. She is so loving.
We took her to obedience class
and she did really well there, although we are still working at not
jumping on people. In time. "
"She is weighing in at 60 lbs now. We take
her everywhere with us. We want to thank you so much for bringing her into our lives.
Thanks --
Tracy "
Now just LOOK at little Sandy -- she's in heaven on earth -- !!
Here's one of my favorites --
-- the girls hamming it up -- !!
So there we are, Sandy (aka Wednesday) home forever --
-- with all the recent talk of tragedy, flooding, death and abandoned pets, this story was a real welcomed one to me --
-- THANK YOU, Tracy and all, for the love and guidance you've given this girl and continue to give her -- !!
