Our little Savannah took a worthy journey -- !! |
In January 2007, I got an email from Joan looking for help with a litter of pit-mix puppies who were left at the door of the shelter, without a momma, in a box --
:(
Thus, these babies became the "box-pups", and shortly thereafter, from some very kind coordination and dedication, they were transported from Memphis, TN to Upstate NY --
-- THANK YOU, Jodi and Jeremy for taking the drive -- !!
And here's our little lady, Savannah, as a young lady --
-- rearing for a home visit and happier days than the hectic shelter -- !!
At the home visit, she meets Dad, and is nothing short of a demure lady -- :D |
Next, her new brother, Anthony -- she's skeptical, that's for SURE -- !! |
And finally, Mom.
Little Savvy's story is a special one, and she is filling some special shoes in Kath's family...
... this is what I found in the living room --
:(
Here's a picture of little Anthony and his bestest childhood friend, Zoey, who recently died from cancer --
-- her remains are in the box below the picture - :(
And then, there's the life of Zoey... |
Inside, you see a beautiful girl who was nothing short of a beloved family member for the past eight years -- |
-- what a beauty, and so sad, in a way --
-- the pictures speak volumes for Zoey's love and life.
Now back to little Savannah --
-- she's not replacing Zoey, but she is stepping in to a hurting family, who very much wants to save a pup, and to love again.
And with that charge, Ms. Sav delivers -- !! |
And all the while, Ms. Zoey's memory and picture serves as an example of how absolutely wonderful this breed can be as a family dog. |
So, with that, my work is done, and little Savvy's life begins anew --
-- all because of some committed folks who insisted that this litter of "box-pups" become more than a euthanasia statistic --
-- THANK YOU, ALL!
