Blue skies smilin' at me...
Nothin' but blue skies do I see!! |
It was looking like another typical summer day, till Elvis and Ivy got the hankering to explore the outdoors a bit... |
Here's Elvie, doing his best cat-like grin... |
... and here's Ivy, with her unmistakable eyes...
... she is still available for adoption, here --
And our setting -- an old orchard, that was pretty much empty... |
Well, these two are anything but serious, so playing was of the first order -- !! |
First things first --
Ivy: "Elvis, I think I love you"
Elvis: "Ivy, your breath smells like pretzels!"
... and now down to playing!
Little Ivy is only 6-1/2 weeks, so strict supervision is given to their play-time --
First verse:
Blue skies smilin' at me
Nothin' but blue skies do I see
Bluebirds singin' a song
Nothin' but bluebirds all day long
Well, that party was over quick -- a hawk circles the area --
-- puppies are not exempt from hawks' menus, unfortunately!
Elvie says, "Over my dead body" --
-- little Ivy is safe!
This is a perfect picture -- I love her look, and her eyes... |
And before we can get too sentimental, Elvis is on to something... |
... and I mean he's REALLY on to something - !! |
Ivy says, "Wait for me, Elvie -- !!" |
"Yippee -- a watering hole -- !!" |
Elvie takes the first plunge -- |
-- and quickly heads for shore -- |
**almost there**
**almost there**
Terra firma is reached, and the shakedown begins... |
In the meantime, Ivy's found herself a companion, and both watch in girlie disbelief -- !! |
Little Stephanie loves Ivy, and Ivy shows her contentment to the world -- !! |
Elvis, recuperated from his dip, runs around kissing the women fervently -- !! |
Ivy and Stephanie take a little dip, Steph sure not to get her skirt wet -- !!
Goodbyes are said, and we head back to the car...
Second verse :
Never saw the sun shinin' so bright
Never saw things goin' so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly
On our way back to the car, we're broad-sided by a white boxer, Candy -- |
-- and this girl is no joke -- a force to be reckoned with -- !! |
Elvis is in disbelief, not sure if Ivy suddenly morphed in to this creature, or wondering exactly where she came from... |
Now this is a big lady --
-- when I said to her owners, "Large in charge -- that's for sure" -- they just stared at me -- !!
As quickly as she came, she left, without even allowing Elvie a goodbye kiss... |
... and off to home we went, having enjoyed this beautiful day, and having helped baby Ivy see a little bit more of the world... |
